SKP C208 Engine failure on takeoff
 
Anyone got any details on the c208 that had an engine failure on takeoff in Cairns late September. Can’t see anything on the ATSB website.. UZC was the rego I think.

It was the first flight in the 208 for a skytrans new hire with a training captain. Runway 15 takeoff at about 400’ all torque was lost, the training captain took control and turned left toward the field and put it down across the field. Nil injuries and damage.

Indeed, especially to make it back to the airport. Any lower and it would have been parked up in the mud just off the esplanade.
