Just want to get some info about work at Air Niugini as an expat pilot. Do you need prior PNG experience? Can you commute? What is the company culture like? Pay in AUD ? etc tia

PX are recruiting for Dash 8 F/O's
Must be a PNG National and have a minimum of 200 hrs total time, with Class One medical.

Pilot Positions in Air Niugini



Air Niugini Limited currently operates Boeing 767, Boeing B737, Fokker 100 and Fokker 70 jets in its international and domestic operations.

The Dash 8 200/300/400 series aircraft operate domestic services within Papua New Guinea.

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified candidates for Pilot positions on the above aircraft types.

Successful applicants will have the options of either a full-time base in Port Moresby, or domiciling at a port on the Air Niugini domestic or international network.

Required Minimum Qualifications are:

1. ICAO or PNG CPL/ATPL and Multi-engine Command Instrument Rating; and
2. At least 2,500 hours Total Aeronautical Experience,
3. 1,500 hours command time on fixed wing aircraft, which includes a minimum 1,000 hours flight time on multi-engine aircraft,
4. 100 hours night flight time
5. Experience commensurate with age

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a drug and alcohol screening prior to employment.

Heard on the streets PX is that short on crew a few pilots and cabin crew stood down for busting duty limits or refusing to do so. Maybe I should steer clear ….

Any tips or insight as to what I can be expecting for F/O dash 8 interview? I'm aware there is also a sim check, any idea what that entails?

Just for the record. when I commenced with Air Niugini quite some years ago the requirements were ATPL. MECIR and 5,000 hours command all of which had to be in PNG. Also, for the record, I consider the training I received from Air Niugini to to be of absolutely gold standard, a standard I was able to carry into other aviation employment situations
