Holy crap!

I was completely wrong. I had money on the prosecution being nobbled and old mate getting away with a slap on the wrist.

Very happy to be proved wrong. Congratulations and respect to the PNG legal system.

Cutmore.

18 years! If not early parole he is of an age with the jail, sentance that will see him die in jail. Even if he got out early no pension plan in sight.
Avgood warning to anyone else that my think they can use light aircraft for drug delivery.
Mean while brains ?????? behind the scheme move on to their next plan.

In the words of the immortal Battery Sergeant Major Williams:

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

Wonder whether a prisoner transfer to Australia may occur? He may still be facing charges in Australia?

18 years of rice and tin fish in Bomana would be no picnic!

Even if he made it back the AFP were waiting for him as the syndicate he worked for was planning to off him on return and the Feds couldn't sit back and let it happen along with the importation. The more you know.

In 18 years, the syndicate members will have retired or knocked each other off in the various gang wars currently going on in Sydney. And in 18 years there will be little point in the AFP prosecuting him, he’ll have done his time and will be no threat.

An early release, however, is a whole different kettle of fish. It will be interesting to revisit this thread in a couple of years or so…
