Mildura school scheduled for restart

Looks like the pilot cadet school at Mildura is on track to start up again, with the first cohort of students scheduled to commence in January 2023. They will be looking for new staff.

So you Qlink, Virgin and Rex guys will be able to start complaining again about the traffic hazards in the MIA circuit!

Probably more appropriate for the GA&Q forum but great news, more opportunities for young Aussie pilots to build up their hours.

Hopefully Australia’s position as a world leader in flying training is regained after the last two years

Agree Dr Dre - more work opportunities is important.
I wonder how hard it will be to restart? Did they keep all the previous fleet or do they have to start again from scratch?

Most of the previous fleet is still there. The in-house engineering team have been looking after all of them continuously.
The operator is looking for a new Safety Manager.

They will definitely have the need for a lot of instructors, not sure where they will get enough supply unless they pay big dollars for them to stay in the country. Hopefully they don't make the mistakes of the previous large flying schools that skimped on instructor conditions and were left with no operational staff to complete contracts, one shutting its doors instead of trying harder.
