Airmed PA31

They seem to have high hour requirements. If a pilot met those I would have guessed he/ she would be in Rex or similar

Cedrik 28th Jun 2022 13:33

Might be so high time can match with the high aircraft hours? :8 How many around now with less that 10,000 hours?

Big Pistons Forever 28th Jun 2022 15:50

A Pa31 with10,000 hrs ? That's barely broken in ! The Ho I last flew 3 years ago had just crossed the 28,000 hr mark.

2000 total and 500 multi ? That seems pretty reasonable to me, based on my 1990's knowledge of the market. :D

“These requirements are as per our contractual requirements, and are not negotiable. Please do not apply if you do not meet these minimum experience requirements.”

They’ve explained it on the advert

International Trader 28th Jun 2022 23:09

May appear high hours to you but , the requirement would have been double that twenty five years ago and more still in times prior to that.

Corvallis 28th Jun 2022 23:38

Fair enough

neville_nobody 28th Jun 2022 23:56

There would have been a queue around the block with those hour requirements in the 90s. Then someone with 5k+ and 2k on type would have got the job.

Duck Pilot 29th Jun 2022 04:49

Probably also contract requirements.

The experience being asked is quite reasonable. I’d imagine it won’t be long until the aircraft are replaced with turbo props.

I’d argue a pilot with 2000hrs is also barely broken in!!

Is TZY and SAO still flying? They had some hours on them years ago.

Anyone remember DAP? It was a tired old bird when it was lost with crew doing target towing off Nowra. Really sad story and should never have happened.

I'm surprised they haven't been already.

The hours are a contractual requirement, however, there is a waiver process they can use to reduce the hours. There is at least one pilot being moved across from Air Link with less than 2000 tt. And REX hahahaha, I'd rather stick a fork in my eye.
