Anyone got a 172 for 2 months hire or to sell?
Around the N model vintage would be OK , aged like a fine wine.

P2-SPF abandoned over 20 years ago and not flown.

VH-TUA abandoned over 10 years ago and nor flown since.

If that's a recent photo of TUA it doesn't look too bad, the other one however looks like a lot of hard work (and money). The other problem with aircraft that sit around is knowing what is owed on them before you look at buying, no point acquiring it for a song and then realising it has a lien on it for 3 times its value.

P2-SPF is not an N-model, looks more like an F or G with those venturis on it. In any case I think it has flown for the last time.

On the far right of the photo of VH-TUA can be seen the nose and part right wing of a Bongo Van :eek: with what appears to be the letter M on its nose.

Surely not P2-ISM?? Flew that particular A/C a few times.

Which brings me to ask, how old is that photo?:hmm:

It's P2-ALM, ex P2-NAA and it had a concord yoke in it when I flew it last about 25 years ago..

The orange 172 is owned by a very well know PNG based pilot - good mate in fact.

There is also now a flying school operating in POM with a 172, great achievement and I hope they do very well as the country needs to have the capacity to do their own flight training IMHO. Bring on the Robbies!!!!

Islander as per Ducky is P2-ALM; I doubt the Islander will fly again; too much missing.

VH-TUA is owned by former Aero Club owner; he has a Citation II P2-MRM sitting at Sunshine Coast since Aug 2017

The new Flight school is Philippines based Acatech, with a C172, P2-AJP. Has registered office in POM. Good luck !

I also cry when I look up there and see B200 ex P2-KSA rotting away! Done my King Air endorsement and line training in it with Mad Dog who gave me the opportunity to fly an immaculate aircraft and learn how to fly again :ok:. I don't think I have flown anything as good since!

The C185 was bought by Dennis Hilditch; Dennis frequents the Car Club on a regular basis.
I believe Dennis has sold the aircraft and it was boxed up and sent south, waiting for restoration.
Dennis own a PA-28 Cherokee which he keeps at Mareeba, Qld

P2-ALM was as mentioned above, prior to that reggo, P2 NAA and I still remember wantaim being stuck at Woitape for a few hours due weather with the National Pilot Jimmy Kauk (sp?) who was flying NAA. Seem to remember the Concorde style yoke and thinking it odd.

A lot of early Islander had the Concorde style yoke, same as the early BAe HS125 jets.

Likewise Bristol Britannia, and the current Embraer regional jets have the 'Rams" horn controls to give them the correct name.
