BIG Problems for CAE OXFORD

Rumours has it that CAE are having major issues with the COVID pandemic, amongst other things, rumours say;

>Obviously they cant take Chinese students, so Swinburne is their only bet at the moment.

>All grade 3 are gone already and some grade 2s. More g2 cuts coming.

>Seminole and King Air Flying to cease temporarily after June

>Because they can get students they are contemplating private hire

>Apparently they are selling a couple 172s to raise some cash funds but don’t want to drastically reduce fleet size.

>There was speculation if they’d take the Box Hill contract. But after SOAR they aren't sure.

>Apparently big trouble in coming months.

Yes, international travel is controlled by the feds but there is considerable business risk in Victoria with your arseclown of a premier 'keeping everyone safe' with 'an abundance of caution'

Queensland has started begging the feds for money, ordinarily Vic would be next but your megalomaniac premier actually thinks he's god, so I'm guessing you'll be ok down there?

Once “quarantine camp Avalon” airport is up and running it may help. The Vic govt already semi-secretly let in over 1,000 international students as a priority in front of the 40,000 residents wishing to return home, there is at best a trickle of students coming in which may help.

I suspect that will slow down after it was exposed during the Holiday Inn screw up and exposure of the 1,000 students.

The lunatic Andrews will see to it that no business flourishes in Vic never lone Aviation!
Tough times ahead mostly avoidable!

I have been shot down when I put such predictions on here many months ago. There is no such business case for these places until the middle of this decade.

It is nothing but business 101. The revenue tap is turned off. The expenses need to be paid.

Be very very very mindful of businesses putting out discounts for ‘up front’ payments. They are just trying to keep the banks at bay.

Oxford, FTA are all just dead ducks for the foreseeable future.

I learn't in one of my first cracks at business, (****, I sound like Sunfish :yuk:) that there's all sorts of business risk that you must manage. When that risk comes from government (policy, legislation etc) you're at more risk than a 'normal' business. That's part of the reason a pilots licence is so expensive. And these mobs are wearing it big time. They're not dead ducks, but they are terminally ill, in palliative care. Begging and pleading with god (Comrade Andrews) for a miracle cure whilst swallowing the bitter chemotherapy drugs.

And absolutely, never pay for jack up front in aviation.

In my defence, it’s also on most other news websites but most were behind paywalls.

It's not just happening in Oz, L3 (previously CTC) have shut up shop here in New Zealand due to Covid 19.

They had pretty well the perfect set up to manage MIQ for new international students but the government said no way, Hosé. Ideology taken to extreme.

However I also suspect the world wide down turn had a significant impact on the decision to close the operation over and above any MIQ red tape.
