“The autothrottle automatically manages engine power from the take-off roll, through the climb, cruise, descent, go-around and landing phases of flight. This enhancement reduces pilot workload and supports them to prevent over-speed or under-speed, over-temp and over-torque conditions,” he said.

“Another update in the cockpit is the new digital pressurisation controller, which automatically schedules cabin pressurisation during both climb and descent, reducing pilot workload and increasing overall patient comfort.”
Now I know why I felt stressed flying the B200 and B350.

Couldn't afford the coloured knob option?

Squawk7700 12th Feb 2021 07:36

They should do what Ford and other manufactures did under their bonnet and colour the things that you are allowed to touch, in yellow.

McLimit 12th Feb 2021 07:57

I never knew that!

deja vu 12th Feb 2021 08:18

It was just a year ago that the RFDS QLD was bemoaning that they couldn't afford to pay their pilots the award rate and shouldn't have to, cos, you know, they're special.

Everything was painted yellow.... so what was the point?

The things you were allowed to touch were painted yellow, sort of defeats the purpose in an aircraft, but based on that pic everything does look the same, even the throttles.

iIf you’re in the driver seat of a KA and can’t tell the condition lever from the prop lever without colour, you shouldn’t be there.

Oh, I think those comments were tongue in cheek.. you know, dry Aussie wit and all that. Besides I think those two hark from the original monochrome era.... including what was laughingly called weather radar

They will be replacements, at least some of them

nomorecatering 13th Feb 2021 11:54

Does anyone know if the 360 is available ex-factory with the -67 engines, 5 blade props and HGW option (I think it was 15,900 lbs) as the 350 was.

I hear MT are soon to certify a 7 blade prop as they have done for the PC12.

B58 14th Feb 2021 07:35

The QLD 360’s are coming from the factory with all of that and are 16500lbs MTOW just like the current 350’s they have now. The -67 will add a decent time to climb and a little speed compared to the -60.

Care to support that with some evidence? Particularly given that RFDSQ pay well in excess of the 'award' and were doing so way before the last EBA which was in 03/2019 BTW. Last year RFDSQ pilots were one of the very few groups anywhere to get a pay rise.

The 360 so airline jockeys can fly them! Auto everything and all.

:ok:

(yes a little tongue in cheek).

nomorecatering 15th Feb 2021 15:42

What's the difference between a 360 and a 360ER. The ER gas a 1900lb higher MTOW according to the website specs 16,900 v 15,000, extra tanks and a gear mod that gives the MTOW. So am I reading it that you can get a straight 360 with the mods of the ER but without the nacelle tanks?

Do not know where you folks are getting your info but here is the actual RFDS Qld numbers

Capt Fathom 16th Feb 2021 10:43

Al Fentanyl

What is the source of that pay info you posted?

B58 16th Feb 2021 13:07

Capt,

those figures are taken straight from the RFDSQLD EBA based on the base rate in 2018. There has been WPI added to that rate in both 2019 and 2020 and due again in July this year. So the base rate is slightly higher than what is quoted above although not much, I can’t remember what the WPI increase has been.

Cheers,

AFAP members can access most of the Australian pilot EBAs.

Most of the aero med operators have always paid higher than some airlines, particularly for First Officers.
