Aviation Satire

Anyone know what happened to GA herald and if there is any replacement? Loved reading the trials and tribulations of ULink staff

I believe the entire Uppercumbucca region has been under strict Covid-19 lockdown for some time now. As most staff at Uppercumbucca Air Charters were individual contractors rather than employees, there were issues demonstrating a loss of income, linked to a lack of employer paperwork and payslips, so I heard they couldn't get Jobkeeper and haven't been able to pay their phone bills so their broadband was cut off.

If you are keen to apply at Uppercumbucca Air Charters I believe they may still be looking for C206 drivers for the upcoming tourist season, minimums remain unchanged - 2000TT, 500 multi, Heavy Rigid licence, first aid and DG certificate, some hangar work and ground duties will be required for successful candidates.

Bugger. Have all the requirements bar the total time, might head up there anyway and offer to work for free to get a foot in.

Hope the author is able to feed him or herself. There’s some good observational talent there

I think the Betoota Operator of Air Charters (BOAC) may be looking for pilots. The Chief Pilot let slip to the Townsville refueler just the other day that BOAC was looking to only hire pilots who had been previously affected by the CASA strict liability laws, as those would be better placed to know how to not get caught again. After being collared by the Betoota Advocate Reporter in the pub last month, the CP indicated that a direct Betoota - London flight would begin soon, with bad jokes being the novel way in which the airline would attract new punters. The new route would be known as the Punrise route. ...

By the way, pilots overnighting in Betoota are welcome to join the throng of high-flying-hours drinkers and diners at the new restaurant known as Skinnys, located in Cool Ben Street. Skinny hopes to make his restaurant popular with drivers from all air operators, having set up a large numbers of tables on the footpath outside the restaurant. "Saves rent and keeps all those bloody covid affected Brits out in the open air, away from my staff"., he said. Beers are half price to encourage local pilots to fly over the border for a quick drink.

I hope the GA Herald can return.

this was brilliant stuff.

one of the few things on the planet that could make the crusty old chief ease the frown lines a fraction.

It appears that Aviation Daily Flog is just kicking off. Good reads. Enjoyed both the articles. 9/10 no ragrets.

satire

It is a pity noone seems to enjoy satire. This could have been an enjoyable thread. Think of the amazing characters we see embarass themselves every day on our 1984 tv set (yes the smart TVs can send back your comments to big brother).

Now It seems that some jerks have stolen the scuba divers OK sign and made it into a political statement. This upsets me greatly so I will mediately call for all scuba divers to protest march in full gear...

Enjoy... Seabreeze
