Airspace changes around Brisbane
Hi all, just a public service announcement relating to the airspace changes around Brisbane that came into affect and caught several people out today. There is a new 2500ft step over southern Bribie, so no climb to 3500 for the transit to Moreton unless you go north of the island now. Also lots of changes with new steps west of YBSU Sunshine Coast. Definitely check the map before going up that way!

Couple of SUPs depicting the changes, also a national summary one:
BRISBANE AIRPORT (YBBN) NEW PARALLEL RUNWAY AIRSPACE AND OPERATIONS SUNSHINE COAST AIRPORT (YBSU) NEW RUNWAY, AIRSPACE AND OPERATIONS CHANGES TO AIP AERONAUTICAL CHARTSEFFECTIVE 21 MAY 2020 |
Also check the new levels coming into Archerfield from the south. Some new names for points as well. (Gold Coast becomes GOMOL as a tracking point, VIMOL changes to ... (can't remember off the top of my head))
Definitely check your charts are up to date, and double check the changes. |
The STAR from the south for 01 seems to have them very low, very early. Quite a drag in at 3000'.
