Has ANYONE in Aus got 100 hrs on G150??
|
May be someone ex Skywest/Pearl
halas |
There is two G-150 on the Australian register, both based in Singapore. PFV and PFW.
So the answer would be 'yes' there are pilots with time on type.... |
You missed this bit out....was not on AFAP ad but was on seek.
I get why they are saying it.... without checking I would guess you have to go to usa and flight safety to do anything on that simulator.... but right now even if I could go there would I I think I will just wait thank you... but good luck to them. It is essential applicants possess a G150 type rating. Applicants without a G150 type rating need not apply. |
The Pearl aircraft were Astra / Astra SPX / G100 from memory. Haven't checked Oz, but under EASA and FAA, the G150 is on the same Type Certificate for Certification but it is a different Type Rating for Pilots.
Having said that, calling it a "Gulfstream" is like calling a VW a Porsche. Yes, I know what the badge on it says. |

If it’s not built in Savannah it’s not really a Gulfstream.

CFD, advert was on AFAP web site
SRFred, common practice, the majority of Government ads encourage the 'brothers' to apply..... |
Yep trying to do a rating when you cannot travel is....... impossible!
Hence why so many CAA’s have extended dates. As for the Sing ones, just because they are VH doesn’t mean the people driving them have right to live in Oz. |

I thought Tel Aviv was Savannah, in Hebrew?

They don't actually build them in Savannah, all they do is bolt together the bits built elsewhere, but know what you mean.
Gulfstream G650 - program supplier guide Yup, but still a substantial part of the aircraft is built in SAV with its giant robotic riveting machine fabricating fuselage sections. Worth a visit if anyone is doing any training at FSI. What impressed me most was the sheer pride of every worker in the factory for their product. |
The fuselage panels are manufactured by Stork Fokker in Papendrecht (Netherlands) and shipped to Savannah where they are assembled into barrels. Shipping completed barrels would complicate the freight arrangements I guess.
|
If we're talking about G150's I thought they were only ever assembled in Tel Aviv by IAI. They were then flown empty to Dallas for interior/cabin fitout by Gulfstream.

CareFlight take delivery of Gulfstream G150 - VH-OVG
Gulfstream G150, VH-OVG a 2007 model has been registered to Careflight NSW.
Apparently for the Darwin base. |
Segment on Sky News Australia today about the new "game changer" G-150
https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6249337739001 |
For a bit of context, according to jetcraft.com there have been 123 G150s produced in total since they began production in 2005. There would likely only be a small number of Pilots (relatively speaking) that have time on this type then, snagging one that is currently looking for a job, current CASA Class 1 Medical (So not flying overseas for the last few years), right to live and work in Australia and willingness to locate to Darwin seems like a needle in a haystack but good luck to them!

Did Careflight just get another Government grant?
