What a great adventure. I think this was the US registered C185 that was told it would take three days to get Avgas at Broome from BP. After all that flying I could see how that could be upsetting when returning to your own country.

Good story, that. Flying can be fun !
Oz gets some great PR. !! Remember the flyer in transit who landed at Pt Hedland , was it ? They wanted the duty paid for importing the aircraft !
What is it with some Oz bureaurats, a position of control and power addles the brain?
After a long x-countries the arrival at Darwin was marred by the attitudes of the Customs people. After they had done their rude and unhelpful thing and departed, people stepped forward and apologised .
I felt like fueling up a heading out again... bugger this place,!
