What Is Wrong With This Country? Where Is Our Donald Trump?
Comment on Facebook from a guy flying around the world in a C182: Australia NOT open for business. I am flying a US-registered aircraft into Broome INTERNATIONAL Airport tomorrow from Indonesia. Air BP cannot sell me fuel without three days' prior notice and perhaps not even then as it is a foreign-registered aircraft. I have flown this aircraft from the US to Europe, through Russia and down through Asia. Nowhere have I been faced with this kind of absurdity, nowhere. What is wrong with this country? The answer is that we have forgotten our convict heritage and let the bastards grind us down. .......all for our own benefit of course. We need a slash and burn Prime Minister to cut through the red tape that strangles us. |

My money's on you being an air traffic controller, probably ex-ADF, Maggie. Maybe retired?

Let me get this right... you are advocating for a Donald Trump type leader in this country? Let me guess, you think climate change is a lie and just want it to be 1965 (“the good old days”) again? Never had any trouble with fuel in Broome, and it is also available in Derby, Kununurra, Headland if he’s in that much of a hurry and can’t give three days notice. Another Helen Lovejoy “Won’t somebody think of the CHILDREN??!!!?” moment right here. |
It must be terrible being you Sunfish. The entire world is out to get you personally, everyone is against you personally. I’m sure you’re a barrel of laughs at party’s. Donald Trump is filling that swamp faster than any president in history. |
We had a Trump type in Canberra, he ripped of a bunch of workers and we used some of our convict heritage to throw him out. We luckily still have an amount of common sense in this country albeit dwindling. As to the fuel issue, my reading was it was a ‘local’ issue and as soon as it went to head office they got told to pull their heads in and serve the poor chap. Sounded like the build up might’ve already been taking its toll of the locals. |
A friend of mine and his colleague flew a little aircraft from a country on the other side of the planet to Australia a while ago, via lots very 'interesting' places.
Guess where he said he was ripped off the most on fuel and ground handling charges? Galapagos tortoises are generally very relaxed and comfortable, for a reason: They don't get out much. |
Actually it’s the second international arrival that couldn’t get fuel... What a farken disgrace, an international airport NOT providing fuel??? Straya..... |
I see all the social justice warriors are out this morning... Why don’t you go and meet your “extinction rebellion “ mates for a group hug. I’m watching the Bathurst 1000, not a greenie LGBTQ in sight. |

And ---- unbeknown to the Extinction Rebellion, the Bathurst 1000 runs on 85% renewables.---- alcohol ---- and I am not referring to the crowds!! Tootle pip!! PS: Since when did selling fuel to a non VH aircraft become an issue??? |

Yeah the not giving them fuel thing is stupid, which is seemingly why BP head office sorted it out quickly. What any of it has to do with a sexist, strategically inept and (conviction pending, innocent till proven guilty etc) potentially corrupt leader being an example that should be elected into office in Australia? Yeah, no idea. |

Are you a homophobe? As for climate change, suggest you spend maybe even 5 minutes of your day reading something other than Sky News and look at this fantastically displayed and more importantly, referenced resourced published by NASA. https://climate.nasa.gov/ https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/ |

Quite obviously the answer is yes. Based on his posting history, he is a recluse that lives in the country, is probably a doomsday prepper with a stoned carved basement full of supplies, has a one way strip with a 7 degree incline, not because of necessity because of the landscape, but rather because he wants a faster getaway when the world is ending so that he can take off quicker in his 80 knot Zenith. Hope he doesn’t try to outrun the nuclear EMP in it as the EFI Rotax may choke out. Just wanted to say that before the thread got locked :-) |
You politically correct folks crack me up. I love the smell of leaded avgas in the morning. ......Actually I was the a key part of the wedding party for a couple of male friends who got married to each other a few months ago. You SJW types are so easy to troll. Lighten up. |
“brown people” WTF? I actually have a very catholic assortment of friends. |

Big Papi: Then why are you contributing to the harmful normalisation of anti-gay and negative stereotypes? I would guess you either have a job with Qantas or want one. They seem to be very PC these days. And while you and your vegan mates are prattling on about climate change and women in management, I’m more concerned about people having jobs, housing, food and education. I guess you are an inner city trendy labor voter with a man bun. |
Yep, because diversity and inclusiveness are such terrible concepts as well. I’m glad you’re focusing on education Sunfish, if for no other reason the more educated people are seemingly the less like that ^ they become. |

Big Papi: Oh I see, you certainly are an SJW, complete with all the jargon. “harmful normalization...negative stereotypes “. You learned the buzz words really well. Next you will start prattling on about “diversity”, “inclusiveness”, safe spaces, micro aggression, triggering and glass ceilings. I would guess you either have a job with Qantas or want one. They seem to be very PC these days. And while you and your vegan mates are prattling on about climate change and women in management, I’m more concerned about people having jobs, housing, food and education. I guess you are an inner city trendy labor voter with a man bun. I'm very much a conservatively minded person and voter. I make a point of preferencing the greens last wherever I can. And btw you seem to have a better handle on the terminology than I do. I've never lived in the inner city, I have a regional background. It must be tough to think that someone like me actually believes in climate change and basic human rights regardless of sex creed race religion etc. I guess it's just a matter of giving everyone equal treatment regardless of their race or sexual orientation, which you're struggling to do. You're a dinosaur. Deal with it. (Also you haven't actually answered either question, you've just attacked my character, well you've attacked what you assume my character is). (Also I'm much more of a short back and sides man than a man-bun champ ;) ) |
Actually I don’t “struggle “ to give equal treatment to everyone. What I object to is the unjust, unequal treatment of everyone by the humorless, dictatorship of the politically correct. THEY are the ones putting people in shoe boxes, but unlike my light hearted game’s, they destroy people’s careers and lives, witness the vendetta yesterday against some idiot councilor who said something not PC on a games show. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-10-...viour/11592764 Dont you understand that this is exactly the same sort of witch-hunt that the communists practiced?? That is the reason I spit on the PC crowd. They are just plain evil. |
With reference to that councillor...he repeatedly showed that he likes to treat women as objects.
This thread needs to be locked and condemned to history, just like your world-view. |
Spoken like a true social justice warrior. Stifle debate. Your worldview is obviously to you, correct. Mine is not allowed to be different, instead it is incorrect. |
I'm all for debate, but discrimination /=/ debate.
This isn't a platform for your sexist, racist and bigoted views. That's literally all this thread is. You have cherry picked one single event or issue, and tried to use it as justification for why the world is against you. |
Don’t stress too much, if current demographics are anything to go by, people with this world view aren’t going to have influence for too much longer. |
Imagine seeing this old fool’s name on your roster and having to spend hours in a cockpit with him? ‘Crewing, hi, cough cough, not feeling well today’. |

For someone watching Bathurst, you’re certainly posting here a lot. Over 7k posts and a weekend warrior. Sad. j3 |
You’ve turned an actual issue, the fuel, into a political anti progressive right wing rant and whilst at it criticised at least two conservatives. You’ve done nothing apart from attack the man not the argument...
People like you are why people don’t like people like you. |
Curious how Sunfish gets jumped on. Equally curious is how LGBTQI issues / Aboriginal reconciliation/ climate change etc. etc. preoccupy the modern mind. It will be interesting to see what happens as the prosperity dries up and nothing replaces it. And the same activists face declining living standards and an economy that wont be able to sustain the life style that they have become accustomed to. Ban coal. Stop flying. Stop eating meat.
Retreat to a candle lit burrow. Don’t buy anything imported/exported on a fuel oil driven cargo ship, don’t travel on a diesel electric regional train or eat anything produced by diesel powered farm machinery. The current generation have never know hardship. Perhaps an economic depression is needed to concentrate minds? Any chance of getting real? |

And sit in a darkened room weeping. Any chance of getting real? Sorry to not fit your exhausting narrative but there are plenty of conservatives (or people who know how to read peer reviewed science) that are for fixing the planet through the gradual introduction of renewable energy. No one apart from maybe the far left is advocating turning the coal off tomorrow. The single best bit of irony in all of the talk about LQBTI etc is that if you were indeed actual liberals, the values with which the party was founded (in classical liberalism), you wouldn’t really give a **** what people do as long as they don’t hurt others. All anyone wants is to feel included and safe in society. The reason why people are calling this behaviour out is because they’re sick of it. The Sky News Bolt Fantasy Land Hour doesn’t equate to how the majority of people actually feel. I doubt anyone here in this thread meets the definition of a “SJW,” it’s just a normal group of people who aren’t really interested in putting up with the marginalisation of various communities without justification. Honestly, it doesn’t take much to just accept people. |

Do you mean people who have been schooled for a long time or those with substantial life experience? |
Junior, has it ever occurred to you that progress is not inevitable? Or linear? It is possible to fail. The solutions will be created by scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs, not activists. There is an extraordinary conceit amongst the current generation that they have agency over everything. You don’t. Go back to your IPad. Or become an engineer.

What relevance does this thread now have to Pacific General Aviation?
|
I think you all need to go and watch season 5 of Rake (not the best season in my opinion but it certainly nails a few of the issues discussed here). STRAYA! :) :) :) |
Heard him leaving Broome today. He didn't seem too peeved off when the tower cleared him out of there up the coast below 1000ft. BTW, it was a 185.
