OK yet another genius at the top has screwed up!

The new Brisbane CBD office location for CASA doesn’t apparently have enough seats for the staff.....
Rumour is the headcount went wrong....opps we forgot to include in the count an entire “section” for the new seating layout. So now all this cost relating to moving has occurred / is committed, and the building capacity not fit for purpose.
By the way not many in the BNE office want to move to the CBD! The airport location was apparently cheaper in the lease renewal process as opposed to the move to the new CBD office.
Anyway next up, the Canberra office was recently refurbished at great cost no doubt. Now the lease is up and management have decided to look for new options as part of the future location.

Why was so much spent on overhaul knowing the lease spired so soon ????

Next up on the office move list are Adelaide and Perth watch this space......

Dick Smith is there anyway this can get investigated through senate estimates??? I tend to think so much money has been wasted in renovations and the cost of moving building with no apparent advantage. I suspect the board and the DAS get a nod from above and a bonus payment for apparent cost saving?????

CASA runs on a limited budget, this is simply wasteful ...

If buildings are being leased then refurbishment is at the cost of the building owner. However, I do share your other concerns regarding business inefficiencies.

No in business refurbs are at the cost of the lease holder.

Not necessarily. I’m in the middle of a 10 floor refurb being funded by the building owner.

Nothing comes for free though and you are indirectly paying the owner for it through your rent anyway.

Don’t know about he space issue, but I understand the city office came in cheaper than the current airport site.
For sure it will not be as convenient for staff and industry as BNE.

They moved the Melbourne office some years ago from Moorabbin to the city too. Closer to the airlines some were writing on here at the time.

My only advice is to get out of GA commercial aviation now before everything is lost.

For the Act to state that -“ safety is the most important consideration “ clearly means it is more important than cost.

That means you either have to be as wealthy as James Packer or own an Airline and then it doesn’t apply !

Traffic. Lots of people in commercial aviation ask me advice.

I have been on receiving end of commercial aviation because of the aircraft I have owned.

I see no light on the horizon re a never ending increase in Aviation Regulation and costs.

Get out now now before you lose everything is my current advice to most commercial operators who contact me.

Clamback and Hennessy got out because they made there own sensible decision.

I got out of my GA business several years ago, could see the writing on the wall. Very pleased I did and enjoying flying my own aircraft before CASA and other bureaucracies destroy what’s left of the industry.
