Currently Training to be a pilot and moving to Australia
Hi Guys and girls wanted to ask if anyone here moved to Australia after finishing there training to become a pilot? I already have permanent Residency in Australia as I got in with a Trade in Air-conditioning which is what I’m doing while finishing the modular route!!
Can anyone tell me is there anything else I need to do besides the conversions of my licenses for my ATPL and CPL? Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
Jayden,
How far have you gone in your training? Are you doing FAA or EASA? Need a lot more info if you want good advice. 🙂 |
Regardless of EASA or FAA.
Conversion of Foreign LicencesFor information on how to convert your licence, please refer to the Flight Crew Licencing Manual for all information relevant to your application. As a general rule, with the exception of private pilots, pilots applicants seeking to convert a foreign licence to an Australian flight crew licence must:
Note that all licences and ratings will be validated with the aviation regulatory body that issued the original licence you wish to convert. To commence the process, you’ll need to apply for an aviation reference number and submit Flight crew licence application on basis of overseas civil qualifications form 61-4A part A (PDF 803.12 KB). That is a dam fine trade to have if you want to live in Northern Australia while converting and chasing a flying job.
