GPS clocks rollover

Seems like a lot of Y2K style fear mongering all over again...

Why wouldn't every device manufactured or updated since 2000 treat the rollover as 2019, instead of 1999??

Better get my Y2K tin foil hat out of storage.
I had is safely stored for Y3K.

No, this one is real. The article does a good job of explaining the issue (known as "GPS week rollover") without sensationalism.

Multiple Boeing 787s in China experienced GPS 20 years rollover issue. Some aircrafts have to be grounded waiting for an update.

Do 787's in any other part of the world have this issue ?

Probably bought the GPS from one of those on line stores in China.

(I cannot vouch for the accuracy or reliability of someone's internet post, nor has it been confirmed to be a rollover issue. Also not a 787, but that's neither here nor there. It's the equipment's manufacturer that's more critical.)
