Vale Ed Plenty former RAAF pilot

Heard that Ed Plenty died in Darwin on 28 February. Ed graduated on No.9 Post War Pilots course at Point Cook in September 1953. During his RAAF career he was involved with searching for WW2 crashed aircraft in PNG.
After leaving the RAAF he settled in Darwin and for many years instructed at the Darwin Aero Club. Ed and myself were on the same RAAF Flying instructors Course at Central Flying School, East Sale in 1955. A really good bloke. One of his brothers was Herb Plenty who was a Wing Commander in the RAAF in the 1950's and who flew Lockheed Hudsons against the Japanese during the their invasion of Malaya

Remember Ed well from days at the Darwin Aero Club in the ‘80’s. A top instructor and a really nice mate as well.

RIP

Quite a dynasty of Plentys in the RAAF. And put together a bunch of old photos of them all and you'd be hard pressed to pick
one from another. RIP Ed.
