What is the cause of these operational limitations and restrictions?
|
Wow, just wow |
And yet the industry still pays full tote odds via the fuel levy on avgas.

Fuel levy goes to CASA not Airservices |
This the same Airservices cutting down on our Air Services and crowing about being profitable and paying the government a dividend?
|
They are required by law to pay a dividend. Airservices Act 1995. If they don't make a profit there is no dividend & Minister gets cross!
46 Payments of dividends by AA to the Commonwealth (1) Within 4 months after the end of each financial year, the Board must recommend to the Minister in writing that AA: (a) pay a dividend of a specified amount to the Commonwealth, in relation to AA’s operations in the financial year; or (b) not pay any dividend to the Commonwealth for the financial year. |
And who is the minister this week? |
Will the Minister be cross when an Aircraft goes missing and no one knows until it's far too late and people start asking hard questions about why it happened?
|
A little birdie told me it is industrial action.
|
I think Clare has won the 'choccies'...….and 'tis Halloween, …….
Cheerrrsss... |

If they don't make a profit to pay a dividend, does ASA borrow the money to pay the required dividend as happened in Qld with the power stations? |
In New Zealand there is a small charge to lodge a VFR Sar time plan. In Australia I presume that cost is covered by IFR pilots. |
The cost of only one search for a missing un-notified VFR pilot vs making the process free for them to use so you at least have some idea where to look. I know what I'd rather...
