Ex FSO GRIFFO 17th Aug 2018 07:34

Interesting...…..

Today on the commercial radio, 6PR (Perth) reporting from Radio 2GB (Sydney) that McCormack's days are 'numbered' as it is said that he would not survive a Coalition 're-arrangement'...…

Roll on the next election....,

I wonder how long this 'new guy' will last...…..I wish him lotsa luck.
Cheers

I really hope you're right GRIFFO...…….McCormack is about as useful as an inflatable dartboard, and the sooner he's gone the better. :ok:

I've known Tony for eons. He has a deep knowledge of aviation. How effective, I'm not sure as the cards are probably stacked!

It has nothing to do with cards. It has everything to do with what the Civil Aviation Act says are the powers of the Chairman: Zilch.

I realise it’s a big ask to expect people to read a few sentences of the Civil Aviation Act and, even more exhaustingly, comprehend what those sentences mean. But doing so would relieve many people of their Pollyanna expectations of CASA Chairpersons various.

Dick Smith and Jeff Boyd were appointed so that the people who are really in charge can say (completely disingenuously): They had their chance to fix everything and they didn’t, so blame them.

Their only fault was being silly enough to fall for the trap. The frustrating thing is that so many in industry do too.

I have also known Tony for eons... His father had a charter business and Tony was one of the best boss's I have worked for - always good to fly with. The cards maybe stacked but I suggest that he may well be in a position to have some influence on things. He has been on both sides of the ring and has first hand experience in dealing with CASA so he knows where the issues are, especially in GA. I wish him all the best as Chairman.

Alas the Boreds ...past and present , have nice stipends and luncheons. And ???
Anything else to go further down the food chain to "Those that Really Know about 'safety' aka the 'Iron Ring'."..and with lots of time and money wasted pretending to carry something on...in a year or so its all fizzled away.to nothing.
Classic example COOP of 1996/7
Bored not into responding to letters and queries, talking to the av peasants or returning calls either..
You may as well go yodel up a railway tunnel.and waste ya time that way..!
