Size of a Cessna
Hello all,
I am wondering how much room there is in a Cessna 152/172. I am currently 194cm tall and I am wondering whether I would fit. Thanks all, |
You will fit. Go to your local aero club in the UK and try them on for size!
But depending on your weight, don't plan on going too far in the C150 with two people your size on board. |
Hey Pat, you say you are 'currently' 194cm tall - are you expecting to grow some more..?? I'd say the 150/152 might be a bit squeezy for someone your size. Maybe the 172 or even a PA28 would be a more comfortable option although you'll pay a bit more. As tail wheel says, go try them out and see for yourself. You'll work it out pretty quickly. Best of luck..!

Hey Pat, you say you are 'currently' 194cm tall - are you expecting to grow some more..?? It might be the getting in, rather than the space inside thats an issue. Any flying school that is worth training with will be helpful about suggesting aircraft / letting you try them for size. Its also a good excuse to call in and talk with a couple. The best instructor is the one you get on well with. Go and meet some people. |
You'll fit a 172 just fine. I'm 193cm and at the time I was squeezing myself into the C152, 130kg. The 152 required myself to lie across both seats and swing my legs in. Not a very graceful entry.
If you've got the choice, I'd avoid the 152. But, as it's been mentioned, a good flying club/school will find a solution for your needs. |

pat294, I don't remember logging much time in the C152 during my training before moving onto the C172, you might be up for an extra $2000-$3000 which really is a drop in the ocean overall and is hardly a barrier if Aviation is truly what you want to do.
