Watching the Harvard put on its display at the Symmons Plains Supercar, the discussion amongst the group got around to what caused the demise of the annual Skyrace event in Tasmania?

Skyrace was brilliant, and Terry Mulholland was the driving force behind it. Terry was quite a character, and some people either took a dislike to him, or perhaps were even envious. Terry was CFI at Tas Aero Club, and certain individuals worked to bring him undone. From memory, it was over some minor detail in a licence renewal. After a lengthy legal battle, Terry was a destroyed man. It cost him his property, marriage, everything. Those involved should forever hang their heads in shame.
Terry had his faults, but he was energetic, enthusiastic, and a no BS person. A true aviation man.
Once Terry was out of the way, the contacts and the driving energy was gone. It was an incredible time, who would have every thought we would had seen Bob Hoover perform in this country.
Another contributing factor, in my opinion, was making in an annual event. Every other year might have lasted better.
