Rob Avery ATPL planning ground school

Hello everyone,

I have recently learned that Rob Avery has an option for ground school (planning) in Melbourne. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a chance to complete to course and if they would recommend it/passed before I spend $1500. I don't have the option to go up to AFT ubfortunatley otherwise that would have been my preference. Thank's in advance.

Back when I did my ATPL’s, I did Lionels planning course and got 100%.

I completed 5 subjects with lionel last year and passed first time. However he has recently stopped ATPLs and is focusing on CPL. Was deviated after finding out. Which is in looking into other avenues close to Melbourne.

I don't see why there are even ground classes for CPL in the first place. Why would anyone waste their money?

The subjects are all pretty easy and getting close to 100% is not that hard with a decent set of home study books. I got above 95% for all of mine home studying nothing but Bob Tait's series.

For ATPL there really should be more ground class options and its disappointing to see providers offering CPL courses in preference to ATPL.

'deviated' good old auto-correct lol.. I too was able to self study CPL with the bob tait books, however I am finding it almost impossible to find a decent ATPL ground school without having to travel to the Sunshine coast :ugh:which is surprising seeing as Melbourne has such a large population..
