Having known geoff for nearly 40 years now i had high hopes for an outcome whislt he held his position. If he couldn't fix no one can. I hope that the minister can do something but i dont think anything will change. Its a case of yes minster. We look into that. Nothing here minister all good then

I have far more respect for Jeff and his positive efforts than the mealy mouthed hypocrites that are posting here with one hand and playing pocket billiards with the other. Maybe aviation in Oz would be best run by the minister giving Prune a q Hickman scan each day, a few pms to the golden few experts, and all will be fixed, just like that! So simple! No need for trying to get a bunch of industry representatives in the same room, only need sunny a couple of leads and a self appointed LEGEND on the case, bewdy mate 👍.

I am utterly shocked and amazed that the one poster on this thread that I agree with is Connedrodded, an almost complete inversion of my normal world and the usually well informed and measured process opinion, facts and counterpoint.

I do not believe that Jeff is ineffectual in his input, but I can clearly see that when you let the the lunatics run the asylum with never ending MoS and strict liability regulation, you are fighting a lost cause. Trying to create a system more complicated than EASA and ignoring real alignment with FAA with a clear intent to eliminate any General Aviation development, operations and manufacture is a rampant demonstration of excess by the career numpties in BS castle and needs someone in charge who believes the earth is flat, there is a never ending amount of water in the Murray-Darling, that Armidale is the seat of government, and no knowledge or ability or even interest in the field of aviation. NP in government has historically never done any good for the industry, but has always been well supported here. Ya pays ya money......... And then whinge about the chairman, rather than your elected representative.

Thanks for your dedication and commitment Jeff, if a human Dynamo like yourself can't get the message through to the clowns that are actually capable of pulling the levers, the likes of those on this forum have no hope from their comfy armchairs and ivory towers.

I might add to the above that whilst the ponderous negative and compliance focussed monolith that is today's CASA will destroy general aviation if allowed to continue as the bloated self important juggernaut it has been bred into (inbred) I have respect for several, I hesitate to say numerous so I will refrain from such hyperbole, persons in key roles within an organisation they do not respect, working for ladder climbing bureaucrats that they do not like or respect, and who do what they can, as and when they can. These persons are very highly placed but still forced to toe the line by bean counters, legal and numpties that couldn't hold down a real job in the industry they administer.

Kick em all out and just establish a local FAA field office in CB, adopt proven rules and an administration that understands that no avaiation is actually a BAD outcome not an aspirational goal.

Jeff would shine in such a system where consultation is a reality, not just a notional buzz word, but........... I can dream I suppose.

That seems to fit in with my past advice to get out of the industry.

I certainly hope I can change that advice. Time will tell.
