Help Wanted - Formation Information Needed
 

Hi all,

I stumbled across this incredible photograph while going through some of my late grandfathers collection of memorabilia.

The photo was taken in Darwin and it depicts a unique formation of 5 aircraft:
Lead aircraft = Vulcan bomber
2nd aircraft = Canberra bomber*
3rd aircraft = Sabre
4th & 5th = Dassault Mirage

If anyone can provide details on the date of this flypast and the occasion it would be greatly appreciated.

Aircraft #2 is probably a Canberra.

Probably an air defence exercise in June 1968. This film shows all the aeroplanes that feature in your photo i.e. Vulcan, Canberra, Mirage and Sabre:
