Yup, survey aircraft, seen around the Gold Coast a lot.

Heard it in the Phillipines a few weeks ago too. Always interesting to hear a VH call sign doing battle with Manilla Radio.

Doing survey work for the Hong Kong Govt. over the HK territory.
Suspect it parks at Macau due scarcity of landing slots and lack of GA facilities at HKIA.
Would have been en-route through the Philippines to HK when you heard it.
