Light plane crash in South-East Qld
A light plane has crash landed into a lettuce paddock in south-east Queensland. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the plane was found upright with one person suffering minor injuries.
Red & white vintage biplane of some sort - Tiger Moth maybe? For anyone on Facebook you can find it here: https://www.facebook.com/7NewsMelbou...WSFEED&fref=nf DF. |
From the news video in the link above it looks more like a "Red Baron" type tri-wing.

That would be a Fokker Dr.1 replica. Glad the pilot got out okay. Hopefully we will see the aircraft fly again soon!

Ouch, bad weekend for the TAVAS mob, assuming that both the SE5 and Fokker replicas are part of their fleet. They add a bit of character to the local aviation scene and are well worth a look if you're around for one of their open days.
Edit: I see Tavas have released a statement to the effect that it wasn't their little Fokker that said lettuce land now, but rather a privately owned 75% scale job. |
Not TVAS Dr.1 at all.
It is a 75% scale ultralight type originally from Emu Gully. Please check the facts.. |
Please read post properly before getting all knotted up.
