Just go to Google, search for 'Plane clips truck', and go to the first link. That gets you around the news corp paywall (for any of their articles).

All the news articles state "a terrifying near-miss"? - but the PA-31 actually HIT the truck, so how can that be a near-miss??
Once again, a fine example of worthless journalism from writers who don't even have a basic understanding of accident descriptions!

A PLANE has struck a moving truck on a major road while it attempted to land at the Barwon Heads Airport, Victoria prompting calls from locals for the landing path at the airport to be altered.

The Geelong Advertiser has been told the Piper PA-31 light plane hit a truck on Barwon Heads Rd after it was thrown off course by a strong wind gust on March 29.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau spokesman Daniel O'Malley said the plane hit the truck about 10.15am.

"During final approach the aircraft encountered windshear and became low on approach, subsequently striking a truck travelling on a road outside of the aerodrome," Mr O'Malley said yesterday.

He said the collision left the plane with minor damage to the leg of its landing gear.

Yeah they should alter the landing path so as to land ACROSS the runway not down it... ;)

Well, actually, this time the journalist would in fact be correct.
If the PA-31 nearly missed the truck, then logic would dictate that the PA-31 must surely have hit the truck! :ok:

JQS!! It's already been written off in the NT ( by memory ) rebuild at Archerfield ( new wings off something else ) given a corporate paint scheme by Flight One and then smashed by hail twice, sold and then hit by a truck. What's next

A Pa31 is a Piper Navajo. The Pa31-350 is a Piper Navajo Chieftain.

We can be grateful it wasn't the second twin to come to grief in Victoria this year.

Final report out. Interesting reading, pilot low on final, solution is to raise flap because he doesn't want to add power and get the turbos hot. This method clearly didn't work for him
