Airlines pay insufficient usage charges for YSSY
 

I am very concerned to note that, according to these figures: Who pays what? ATO names large companies that paid zero tax in 2014-15 - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), Sydney Airport Limited is paying no tax on income of about $1.1 billion (yes: that's a "b".)

This can't be correct. Usage charges for YSSY should be increased to ensure that Sydney Airport Limited makes a profit.

The struggling bloated leaches on the body politic that have a 40 year monopoly on RPT airports in the Sydney basin must surely be able to make a profit by sucking airlines and passengers dry for use of what's an international joke.

Sorry: Did I say that out loud? I meant to say that any company that can't make any taxable income out of a monopoly asset is run by incompetents.

Whoops: Did I say that out loud as well? What I meant to say is that we should bless and thank the altruistic work of those who continue to run YSSY on a not-for-profit basis. Charities of this kind are essential to the functioning of Australia's third world aviation system.

Message to the major political parties: This **** is why so many Australians are over it.

Don't forget it used to be owned by Macquarie Bank, no doubt it has been loaded up with debt (financed by Macquarie Bank), with all the proceeds going to Macquarie Bank and all the "profits" are being eaten up by interest charges.

SACL is little more than a Macquarie Bank management company to funnel all the profits back to the mother ship.

Maybe an obvious question, can i do a touch and go on my c182 at mascot? If so, what will they charge me?

It's the Airservices charges that are somewhat harder to fathom.

Australians need to call a National strike which will continue until a new Federal election is called with the only stipulation being that none of the worthless, useless bastards currently in parliament are eligible to run for re-election.

Strangely enough, Qantas with an income of $15.5 billion (with a b) and Virgin with an income of $4.5 billion (again with a b) paid no tax either. Must be a tough gig that aviation lark. Or perhaps that sort of money just buys you better accountants than you and I can afford.

ps From that link Sydney Airport was $1.1, not $1.8.

Traffic_Is_Er_Was is correct with Sydney Airport's total income.

A mere $1,176,161,050.

(I have to boast about a win that I had there, the other day. I needed to pick up a couple of friends from the International Terminal. So I arrived early to explore the Express pick-up arrangements which are free for 15 minutes. Then headed over to Domestic Terminals for a coffee at McDonalds and parked for free. Once my friends informed me that they had cleared Customs, I headed over. My carpark costs? Zero.)

Under "Deep State" theory the people that really manage Australia have things organised to ensure that only we the employed pay tax, they the parisitocracy put all their profits in their pockets.
