Network Aviation Perth
If anybody got some general information about Network in Perth it would be greatly appreciated !!! Working conditions, salary, rosters etc.
Is Networks staff travel the same as Qantas or is it a lower level ? I see they are looking for F100 captains and there is also the rumour going around that they are getting 320. Thanks |
I'll second that request for info.
Cheers |
Normally I would be one to say go to the source for such information (ie the company HR) but in this case I am am thinking that have come to the right place for helpful advice!!
A few current Fokker guys that I know are scratching their heads over HR email replies so maybe a phone call to the HR department might be a better option. I do know guys there, and it suits them, so in all liklehood a good job. And despite its years, the Fokker has not only aged gracefully, it is an absolute delight to fly!! |
Network has the normal mainline staff travel, same as other QLINK companies however that is where it ends. They get the lowest and most restrictive interline travel (D), limiting the carriers you can fly with to a handful. Not even Cathay. So good luck getting out of Perth.
EBA is still under negotiation after four years (so the agreement on offer is around eight years old). Therefore none of the company bonus's mentioned in the paper have been paid. Some staff who joined years ago also believed that A320's were coming.... Well no mention of them within the group, so I can only assume you've been talking to pilots who like to make things up that suits their ambitions! Or experience... Also seniority would have to be considered. Pay is reasonable, but no productivity or any other pay related increases with regards to how hard you work, so I expect staff to work most days. The current pilots stay because it suits them, yes. However there have not been many other opportunities for pilots in Australia over the past few years so I guess when that changes we'll see! I know of captains that are leaving for greener pastures. A few other fun facts: 6 weeks leave per year (but only 30 days) so if taken as weeks then 6. But if not then only 4 and a bit. Confused?, me too. Home most nights, for now (no overnight allowances other than food) Weekends are disappearing for most crew, but you usually get one of the weekend days per week. Constant roster changes. Up until 5pm the day before. Company still believes it's running charter and treats rosters like it. Think small ga. The place is trying to be a charter outfit that mainly conducts RPT so it's not surprising that things are a little confused... |
Thanks Kimbo - your story sort of confirms what I have been hearing !!!!
|
What sort of hours do you do and how many days off per 28?
|
In this day and age to be flying a jet and have roster changes up until 5pm on the day before is APPALLING. How do the Network guys put up with that day in day out? Very understanding families?!
|
Well the good news is that if by some miracle they do get Airbus, there's no seniority (or ever likely to be) so happy days, just don't get killed in the stampede 😉
Oh and did anyone notice Network threads always get moved to GA, hilarious |
Actually there is seniority. So long as you qualify for the upgrade (CUSP) then the longest serving suitable person is upgraded. You know about this thou I think :)
The funny thing is that most current staff haven't done the math on how the new upgrade system (read promotion system) would apply to a new type! But you must qualify... Anyway this thread has again been moved to the ga forum so well done moderators! You guys are special... Clap clap. You probably all work for Cobham ha! |
Well they are recruiting people straight off the pistons so it's the relevant audience.
|
Pft! So do alliances posts get moved? Go work that out and let me know... Someone here is having a laugh and it's not very funny :D
|
Oh and another thing, volare_737 is clearly looking for a command position. Who would EVER look in the GA section for a QANTASLINK JET COMMAND in the GA section... Not me.
There has been a very small number of piston fellows get FO slots and good on them, they were obviously well prepared and I wish them all the best. This doesn't mean everyone that meets the minimums will be considered, people with multicrew experience are always preferred. Trust me I've experienced where it can go wrong. These moderators on prune are clearly bias. No other Qantas company is bumped in this manner. |
Geez you are really taking this to heart. Who gives a sh$& really?
But seriously they are taking everyone and anyone with a little bit of time, most I know of have zero multi crew. |
Nothing wrong with GA guys - thats where the real pilots come from !!!!!!
|
But not the ones with multi crew experience....

Network Aviation - Collective Workplace Agreement
Anyone know what the year one wage is for a F100 FO and Capt? PM me if you prefer.
The Collective w'place Agreement has the pay schedule deleted from the Fair Work Commission website. https://www.fwc.gov.au/documents/doc...n084663945.pdf Do they actually pay the 6% loyalty bonus after 5 yrs? |

RENURPP,
Most people that have been reading PPRUNE for awhile know that this forum is the place for questions, so fair enough that it was moved, but....there doesn't appear to be any consistency though...I count three or four questions just in the post titles over in the other forum, one such question regarding hiring at TT and another question about Alliance's fleet, one would imagine they should be here too, no? |
What sort of hours do you do and how many days off per 28? This is just a snap shot of my roster over the past few months, some guys can be quite different due to the archaic rostering system (which is being upgraded apparently). Things are very dynamic right now but over the past 12 months there has been a large increase in work and that is predicated to continue as the fleet expands. in this day and age to be flying a jet and have roster changes up until 5pm on the day before is APPALLING. How do the Network guys put up with that day in day out? Very understanding families?! |
Had the video interview a couple of weeks ago for a FO position.
You know .... The one where you sit in front of the computer and talk to nobody, just answer a series of questions, which are then studied by HR sometime later. Just wondering if anyone else has done the same recently and if they have heard back from HR yet. Smart arse replies welcomed, provided they are genuinely funny. |
