Flight movements at NAN
Hi guys and girls.
We're planning a trip to Fiji in coming months and want to stay within range of Nadi airport. Can someone who flies there regularly tell me what the prevailing winds / circuit directions are? I just wanted to make sure that we don't pick a hotel that's either under, or near the normal flightpaths! I need a REALLY quiet week :) Cheers. Malcolm. |
Almost all jets land on 02 and takeoff on 20. Smaller stuff on 09/27, circuit direction varies.

Go to Denarau, no one arrives over or departs over Denarau unless they are 3000' or above.
All the other hotels around the Airport area will have noise. |
What's wrong with aircraft noise?.....:}

Speaking of aircraft noise, this makes for an interesting read:
http://www.airspacemag.com/flight-today/can-airport-be-saved-180952758/ Sounds like all the rich Hollywood producers and actors along with businessmen and their corporate jets have managed to get the airport shut down. |
I think the OP was after info on Nadi, FIJI. I doubt the Santa Monica circuit extends that far!

Novotel or Tanoa hotels, close enough for ease of for transport the airport but far enough to be without aircraft noise - except for the od bug-smasher onto runway 27.
Either of these is a taxi ride into Nadi town, but such is the case from Denarau. |

HA! Except for the 6AM ATR and any number of Twotters, Islanders etc. not to mention any 172s doing circuits.:sad:

Umm, Twotters and Islanders don't quite go fast enough to catch the bugs, let alone smash them....
However, aircraft noise :ok: |
