How long do I need to keed records for.

How long do I need to keep worksheets for? I understand until next time that inspection/check is carried out.

How long do I need to keep a logbook entry for? I understand it is 1 year after aircraft permanently removed from service/or Australia.

Normal business practice was 7 years. The CAsA don't work to anything "normal" therefor I would suggest an "Irish stocktake" after whatever period you deem appropriate.

After all, CAsA regularly loose evidence if their mates are in that evidence chain. Once broken the case is lost.

CAO 100.5 Para 5 refers.

So if I am told by CASA that something MUST by regulations be in the "Log Book"

I can just in Log Book refer to worksheets for that information, and that is ok? I can then destroy worksheets as per 100.5 and that info is lost forever?

1 year and 15 days.

Or maybe it's 7 years.

Hmmm .... maybe it's 3 years.

I have it: Keep records until the next Olympic Games. :ok:

Worksheet retention is actually written very clearly.

It is until the next same event.

So daily. 100hrs, annually, overhaul, 3yr, 12 year as applicable.

BUT that leaves no history of info to check if required - think compound errors!

Band-Aid addict,

What would a Part 42/145 CAMO say?

Band a Lot 3rd Mar 2016 11:52

Put the info in the log book as per CASA regs. And I do as required.

I am being FORCED to put it in the worksheets.

I am being FORCED to put it in the worksheets.
Are you independently certifying, or employed by an CAR30/Part145 organisation?

Band a Lot 4th Mar 2016 05:43

I have a CAR 30.
