All the new aircraft with canopies that open upward & forward will be difficult to escape from if they overturn in an accident.

I once asked a friend of mine where the crash axe or similar was in his new machine. He asked what he would need that for & I mentioned the difficulty getting out if the thing overturned. He said that it was pretty light & that he would just lift it up. When I expressed reservations on how that would work when he was hanging upside down in his harness, with the possibility of fuel leaking everywhere, he just couldn't see the problem. Still doesn't have an escape tool in the aircraft to this day, as far as I know.

The Cirrus has an escape hammer as standard equipment. To be used to shatter the plexiglass in the event that exit via the doors is not possible e.g. an overturn.
