Plane crash near Nowra: police | Newcastle Herald
206, engine failure, minor injuries according to our CASA's Pete. Did well to find anywhere to get down in one piece there. Peter Gibson, corporate communication manager for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, said the pilot had broadcast a mayday call, reporting engine failure, around 12.30pm. At the time, the pilot and his Cessna 206 was reportedly around the Wombeyan Caves area - around 60 kilometres from where the plane was found, on the outskirts of the national park near Touga. Mr Gibson said the pilot had suffered only minor injuries. |
That one's getting a little too close to home, glad he managed to find somewhere open enough to put it down safely.

Why is CASA commenting on it?
Surely, after the accident has proven they have failed yet again, it is in the realm of the ATSB? Safe skies are empty skies |

What was the CASA comment? |
Sorry... someone above referred to "Our Peter", being Peter Gibson.
their comment now deleted... :ugh: |

So having heard a bit about this incident on the radio, why was the pilot of a C206 no less piloting the thing in the first place if he was that poorly trained.
The operator or whoever was involved in the history of this flight and/or the pilots training needs examining. Perhaps some of the Aussie place names are a bit too confusing for some not so familiar with the local lingo and we are all being a bit too harsh? Having said that, someone lets you fly off in a C206 and you can't give a distance and radial or bearing to a navaid or aerodrome?? Am I too harsh again? And will the ATSB get a satisfactory report out on this piston engine failure? :roll eyes: |
Police asking witnesses to call CrimeStoppers!?
That's not normal, is it? |
Crimestoppers??
Of course!! All pilots in Australia are criminals and this one crashed. Must be something CAsA can nail him for, after all he buggered up their worlds best safety statistics. |
Yeah the CrimeStoppers thing is normal; the number is already set up, people are waiting online to answer already and you would not call 000 with such information.
|
Everyone is a criminal unless proven innocent...
|
And will the ATSB get a satisfactory report out on this piston engine failure? NOTE:- No engine or aircraft knowledge or experience was used in this report.:{ |
