Incredible posters

G'day all,

I know from time to time that occasional jibe or fun is shared about people who post alot on Pprune but this one got me......

Just out of interest today I was checking out the latest developments on the MH370 thread on Pprune Rumours etc and was amazed to see one of the Pprune community who is posting on that thread today has contributed an incredible 18133 posts since joining in 2000.

Whereas I'm sure that this member is a very knowledgeable person and it's good to see him or her sharing their input, I am absolutely gobsmacked by this amount. On my maths that works out to be about 3.5 posts /day over the past 14 years....

Oh Hang on, this is my 2nd today so maybe I'd best shutup!!!

Still.....Does anyone know of any others that top that post amount? Mods?

Stiky,

With 18133 posts since 2000 I suggest the user is a self appointed expert, in love with the sound of his own key board.

He needs to find a life beyond the internet.

Whilst not an accurate measure, in general a user's expertise in professional aviation is in inverse proportion to their total number of posts. :=

You do have 4648 there Tailwheel, indicative of a somewhat reduced level of aviation expertise perhaps? Then again, I should probably shut up right now!

tail wheel 17th Jul 2014 21:35

4,648 posts in eighteen years is an average around four posts per week? But I don't believe that number is correct as I recall one of the PPRuNe Admins "tampering" with my post count in the database some years ago? I suspect the number is closer to 2,000 and many of those posts would probably be in our Moderator's Administration forum, not the public forums.

I'm a person of few words, lest I make a fool of myself. A lesson still to be learnt by many.

"...indicative of a somewhat reduced level of aviation expertise..."
Yes indeed, you are correct. :ok:

Jabawocky 17th Jul 2014 22:24

C'mon Taillie……fess up me old mate. Your post count is way more than that.

I did a quick search and allowing for some "averaging" i estimate 4300 plus your current count.

Maybe few words…..but posted often :}

:ok:

tail wheel 17th Jul 2014 22:42

Maybe, but my post count was amended (the "Victim of a Bored God" thing added and Join Date altered) to the amusement of the Admins and Mods some years ago. Perhaps the post count from a previous user name was added to the Tail Wheel user name?

Small things amuse Pommy minds! :}

But my post count since 1995 or 1996 under all my user names - :E - would exceed 4,300 I'm sure. I joined PPRuNe in the first 100 users.

Not something I particularly keep a check on.

Jeez Tailie, I already knew that old age and red wine was bringing on brain shrinkage, but if my aviation know-how is being diminished by posting here, maybe I need rehab AND recurrent before visiting this site again?

Wise words indeed! And not just for here, but for everyday life as well.

Wasn't that about the time that there was a bit of work going on with the website because I seem to remember that a number of ppruners had their post counts altered. As I recall, I lost about 60 or so.

It was put down to 'finger trouble':ooh: by one of the Woomera Mods when I enquired.

in general a user's expertise in professional aviation is in inverse proportion to their total number of posts.
The 'Chuckling Chimbu' is one exception. But he appears to be having a rest from Pprune.

You can't win sometimes with PPrune. You either have too many posts then are labelled you have no life (get a life!) or you have too few posts being labelled you are new here & know jack sh1t!:)

Pick one Mods & stick to it:-)

Yes, Tailee most of BOAC's posts do make a lot of sense, are quite informative as well as brutal towards some of the nitwits that post on Prune and I suspect that he has forgotten more about heavy jet operations than you'll ever know! If the rest of us operated the way he obviously did the aviation world would be a far better place. :}

I suspect that he has forgotten more about heavy jet operations than you'll ever know!
The silly old Crab bar steward's only flown stuff as big as a 737 and even the 400 with centre tanks doesn't qualify as 'heavy'. Reluctantly, even I have to admit his Lightning, Harrier and Red Arrows experience probably qualify him to air his views on a couple of topics but not too many, mind you :8

Yes, I know him personally and we'd often share inter-service banter when we used to work together, so he definitely doesn't need 'help' in rescuing his reputation from nasty Pontius

"...most of BOAC's posts do make a lot of sense..."
I was generalising. It is the exception that proves the rule.

Pinky the pilot 19th Jul 2014 09:25

(you too, Pinky),
Hey, leave me out of that Bloggsie! Where did I say that I was critical of BOAC, or anyone else for that matter!

tartare 19th Jul 2014 11:21

I wonder if there is a TV doco in this website.
Find the people who post often, all over the world, and tell their stories aviation wise.
From the Courtney Mils to the Con Pilots, The 500Ns and the Cacos.
A wild and crazy mix of individuals.
I think it would be very interesing.

Capn Bloggs 19th Jul 2014 13:15

Orright Pinky, you're forgiven! Post modded.

500N 19th Jul 2014 13:36

tartare

As much as I appreciate the thought, it is just co incidence that 500N happens to be a helo model so no aviation stories from me.

But totally agree with the others and could add many other names to the list, Fox3 being another.

You only need to look at the C-130 thread as a start :ok:

I think it would be very interesting.
+ 1 :ok:

Howard Hughes 20th Jul 2014 03:38

Shhh...

There was a time when talking about post counts had your post count deleted! ;)

Of course the poster may have considerably more than 18133 posts, as some may have been lost in the 'great server crash'. Posts made in JB don't count either, so people like Buster Hymen would have considerably more posts than what is showing on his profle! :ok:

Hempy 20th Jul 2014 03:42

Anyone who averages over 3 posts a day, every day, for years and years and years.....needs a life!!

Just sayin' :)

tail wheel 20th Jul 2014 05:41

Hempys on the money............ :ok:
