I'm not so sure the ol' Jetstream can be called a "modern twin turbo prop". :}

A New Pelican

Well, compared to, say, a Fairey Gannet...

Still needs more runway than a Gannet :eek:

Only just !! Have a look at the years of service of the Gannet, I first flew the (then) HP Jetstream in the mid 1960s. Collins (UK) had one as a flying testbed, which succeeded their Percival Prince.

Tootle pip!!

The question remains, are they going to slip those Jestreams across to Pelican from Bankstown now it's changed hands and on the mend (work not started yet). I know Matt Hall and his Red Bull Racing MXS would slip in there quite nicely, with a little slalom off the end of Rwy25 over the lake... just for practice :ok: Current Belmont airstrip too short for the Jetstream?

If its run by the chap that ran Horizon back in the day at least we know it will be professionally run.

Skystar,

I have to say that the chap who ran Horizon ran a good show, and the chaps I know who are involved are a good team. I hope they will be very successful. :ok:
