Crash at Bacchus Marsh?
|
Good news, the couple in the plane were apparently uninjured. It was a homebuilt, but not sure what kind.
News | Aircraft flips while landing at Bacchus Marsh |
How does one flip an aircraft on a perfect day like this.
|
With very little grace I imagine.
|
The aircraft is a Questair Venture - looks a most unlikely aircraft to flip nose over.

Bugga indeed. What a pity, it is a very tidy looking a/c.

I think this bloke made two attempts to land today at Tyabb before giving up and going home (Obviously back to Bacchus Marsh!) What a shame, it looked quite a handfull!
|
It was a beautiful today out today including Tyabb, barely a knot or three of wind and ossibly straight down the runway so something must have been wrong to not land at Tyabb.
I wonder if that type is a handful. I think I recall reading it was designed by an Airbus engineer. 'Chipper' said the plane flipped due to a bad landing. "The plane is r**ted, but they're OK," he said. |
Probably just me...
He and his wife built it. It was his maiden flight in it. But they went on that flight together. Even if it wasn't the test flight and someone else had flown off the 30 hours, wouldn't it be sensible to do a solo familiarisation first? Just sayin'. Kaz |
Anyone have any further details on what happened? Interested to know how they got out etc. Surely it wasn't his first flight in it?
