Crash at Lismore 12/04/2014

Girl dead, men injured after plane crash

5:30PM THE Australian Transportation Safety Bureau will investigate a plane crash that has left a young woman dead and two men injured in northern NSW.

PLovett 12th Apr 2014 08:34

Rather tragic with the death of a 12 year old girl.

Worst case scenario for any pilot ....:{

Horatio Leafblower 12th Apr 2014 10:09

hmmm

.............

Avgas172 12th Apr 2014 10:52

HL I tend to concur with you, stop drinking the red.

Dangly Bits 13th Apr 2014 08:19

For the pilot's sake, I hope it wasn't skylarking at low level!

Jabawocky 27th Apr 2014 22:03

Dangley it seems your hopes are dashed. From a very credible source he is in a lot of trouble. And it is not Casa he needs to worry about.

Terribly tragic and so very avoidable.

Mick.B 28th Apr 2014 03:47

So how low was he reported to be flying at ?

Wizofoz 28th Apr 2014 03:56

Powerline height, apparently...

That is what I was talking about.

Such a simply avoidable screw up. :(

Desert Flower 27th Aug 2014 22:11

Local police were assisted by investigators from the Police Air Wing
Really?

DF.

Homesick-Angel 27th Aug 2014 22:52

Very sad scenario for all involved including the pilot, but I hope he gets the full wrath of the law.. Just plain dumb choices and the result is devastating..

Squawk7700 28th Aug 2014 00:10

DF - they told them who to call. You'd be surprised, often the first port of call for local police is to call the Police AirWing and ask for their advice / opinion on how to proceed, who to contact etc

Jabawocky 28th Aug 2014 01:59

Just to add some facts……

NSW Police Air Wing has in the past at least had the best air investigation team going around. I would hold as much if not more faith in the reports they do over the ATSB.

They should have done the Norfolk boating trip instead of ATSB!!

Somewhere on the web you will find a TV series called outback coroner, and the story of the C206 prang near Scone.

Couple of ratbag pruners feature in that one too! :}

yr right 28th Aug 2014 04:16

Head man at the NSW police air wing is the chief investigator for the NSW coroner.

yr right 28th Aug 2014 04:53

Will add for aviation

Jabawocky 29th Aug 2014 10:41

he is indeed :ok:

We agree on something. :D

He is a good mate and a good guy. Do you agree with this too? ;)

Actually he is not at work at present, almost dropped dead about 12 weeks ago and has had serious heart surgery. He may need 12 months recovery. He has another top bloke filling in and I must say he is a good operator and learning fast. Must feel like he is treading water while holding a few diving weights, but doing a stirling job. Keep up the good work SO :ok: And get well JH :ok::ok:

yr right 29th Aug 2014 21:20

I cannot make any comment on him at a personal matter for reasons that can't be posted on this site sorry.

Avgas172 30th Aug 2014 08:18

Good idea yr right .... :=
