MIRVAC FINDS BUYER FOR BELMONT AIRPORT : NBN News

Bloody great news.

Now if only the northern side could be developed as a residential airpark. There's enough space for at least 50 spacious hangar homes, however the greenies will no doubt kick up a stink about "bushland" being ruined.

Some great examples of airparks in the US include

Cameron Park CA

Heavens Landing

Nothing would be better than an air minded community.

Would CASA allow a gated community like Cameron Park were the roads double as taxiways?

Would there be a problem if an RPT service was introduced to an airpark....would residents need to wear an ASIC in their own neighbourhood?

I'd be first in line to buy an airpark block. Never happen though - more money to be made from a normal subdivision than an airpark...

CASA is not involved in private airparks. Gatton South [Gatton Air Park] is an airpark west of YBBN. Some nice houses and hangars there.

deal fell through recently, the reason being local council wanted a $250,000 upfront fee to look at development plans, then another similar fee to act on those plans, so the consrtium walked away.

Damn shame that.

Can't blame anyone for walking away in those circumstances. It's a real shame and hopefully Lake Macquarie Council will realise this.
