Countryair; Mark Homer

Nationwide: Kerry Lovegrove.

I remember the day MCX arrived back from a newspaper run to BNE, it had battled some massive CB just North of Gayndah...both leading edges looked as though someone had pounded them with a sledgehammer..and the joys of loading MCX on The Old BNE Airport Tarmac in Mid-Summer..923Kg comes to mind, I was still perspiring at TOD ROK, freight runs to Keppel in CVF/SMI, was it 14Kg for a carton of XXXX?......"Tucker Specials", retrieving the recently departed for Tucker & Nankivel undertakers in Rocky... I remember transporting one to BNE in MCX, covered by a tarp, with Trevor Tracy's two kids down the back, unaware what their feet were resting on....putting MCY in a fenced compound at Doongmabulla so the horses wouldn't nibble at it...overnights on Marble Island with The Roberts, not to mention it's 1,600ft. strip!!.........

Was looking for something else and came across this buried in an old file.

I remember having to give up about $5000 in pay to take the job because, to help with my airline applications, I needed more twin experience than I was getting.

It worked - six months later I manged to score a right seat job in a F27, for which I was rewarded with another cut in salary to $10,385 .

Don and Ken were very good about me clearing off so soon after starting and being endorsed on the fleet.
