Skippers Perth - F100 Crews!
So the rumour has taken a step closer to being fact? Any truth that Alliance was going to provide Check and Training and run the F100's on their AOC initially?
Also any info on Terms and Conditions? SEEK - F100 Captains and First Officers Job in Perth |
Great, now where to get them from? Not many left that Alliance or Network haven't already got their grubby hands on ;)
|
This 'rare opportunity' will make or break that company. Especially while other companies are already doing a fine job with the same equipment.
Fingers crossed they do it right. Will the F100 captains wear 3 bars and the FO's 2 bars  |
And where do they expect to recruit pilots who already have the endorsement and time? :ugh:
|
Intresting to see what they actually pay!
|
Less parking fees.

Just a quick question for any Skippers crews out there.
In regards to To be considered for the role you will demonstrate the following:
He is very excited seeing this as he thinks that this is exactly the sort of experience that Skippers are looking for!! Would they look upon TU-95 and Il-18 experience favorably? |
Compylot I don't think anyone at skippers except senior management would know the answer to that one. Can only send in an app and hope.

The F100 is about the easiest, simplest jet to operate ever built. It is stone simple to fly and has a massive speed brake to get you out of trouble. Skywest had many issues with the type when they first acquired it, but Skippers seems to have some flexibility in how it recruits people so they may be able to avoid the pitfalls of a new type that so vexed XR.
Skippers may find crewing the F100 with experienced pilots quite easy, as long as the T&Cs are right. Network, apparently, had no shortage of highly qualified applicants when they got their F100s. There are currently plenty of endorsed people overseas who would either like to return to Australia (I know 2 off the top of my head)or get a 457 visa like the many ATR and SAAB pilots who have come in recent years. The main issue with Skippers getting a big new type is if they have a market for it. The heat has come off in regards to the Mining Boom. Unless there are plans for expanding existing arrangements or something in the pipeline, this move may break the company. |
PS Do Skippers not pay for staff car parking?
|
I doubt it'll break the company.
It'd be cheaper to buy an F100 than to buy the Q300s. I wonder if the python is already scurrying around the ramp, painting parking markers for the new toy :) |
Wonder if they would have any internal movement.....?
|
I'm sure there will be plenty of internal movement as the lads bend each other over for the hot seat :ok:

Anthill, what problems did XR have?
|
Haha, or the cobra...
All the ex Skippers drivers that have moved on will be falling over themselves to get back and fly the jet no doubt... ;) |
D'Pirate, without getting specific, the 'issues' involved were mainly of a cultural nature and manifested in training and operational areas. By now, one would have expected the operation to have matured. The current F100 fleet manager is a very experienced (and has flown outside WA!) and most capable person and I would imagine a high quality of operation by now.
PM me if you want specifics. |
The parking is free.
Internal movement? Unlikely, no mention of the new type from the company to staff. Seek and afap is the only info we've been given so far. Ex staff looking to return, don't think so |
Any truth they will base them in BNE?
|
No, I asked them where they would be based and was told Perth. I was keen to have a look if they put 1 in SE QLD.
