Swinburne/Oxford Aviation Degree 2013

Yes, I know this area has been a topic in the past, but things have changed and I'd like to know what's happening now.

It seems that due to funding cuts by the state government, all of the Swinburne TAFE flying courses have now been discontinued from 2013.

The problem I have is that I don't have Math Methods 3/4, which is a prerequisite for the Swinburne Aviation Degree. I had been thinking of applying for the Associate Degree (TAFE), which doesn't require Math Methods, but this is no longer an option.

I notice from the Swinburne web site that Math Methods might no longer be a prerequisite for the Aviation degree Management (non-flying).

Has anyone heard anything, I'd be particularly interested in hearing from current Swinburne students..

Other option.

If you still want to do a TAFE associate degree there is one in Perth, PM me if you want details.

Thanks, but I was really hoping for something in Melbourne. Perth is just not practical for me.

I have a career path mapped out, and with some ambition, hard work and luck hope to be sitting in the RH seat of an A320 or B737 in a couple of years. It's not just possible, I'll probably get there before I turn 22.

So you're ambitious and hard working, a "do whatever it takes" kind of person, but moving to Perth to begin your glorious rise to the pinnacle of aviation achievement is simply out of the question.

I take it living out of a remote community up north is also off the cards, if the unthinkable happens and you're not accepted (not that this will happen given your obvious dedication to commercial aviation).

Are you trolling, or really another teenager blinded by the sunlight glinting off that beautifully polished silver fuselage?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He uses "hard work" and "travelling isn't practical" in the one thread and then says "Realistically, who here would really want to hang around hot dusty airports flying decrepit old C206s for a minimum wage" on another one!:D

PFFFFTTT.. STOP IT! I HAVENT LAUGHED THIS HARD FOR AGES! AHHAHAHHA! BWAHAHAHAHAH.......!:}

What exactly do you think you're gonna do for that "couple of years" until you get the RH seat of an A320 or B737? Sit in airport coffee shops wearing your dickywhacker bars to pick up while living off Mummsy and Daddy until someone from JQ runs up to you begging you to replace the FO who just called in sick? Please don't try instructing.....
