The future of airline Maintenance in Australia

Just searching the net, and came across an interesting article from over 10 years ago.The statement that caught my eye states;

Its hard for the union to argue against outsourcing if an airline doesn't have the manpower to do the work
Is this the grand plan of certain airlines in Australia to decimate its engineering workforce?

Of course not. What makes the engineers think they're so special?

The grand plan of certain airlines in Australia to decimate its entire workforce, so they can all be outsourced.

you got something against engineers??? no engineer means no plane for pilot to fly...also no pilot means no plane for engineer to make/fix!!!
