C310 Vb
What is it? Maneouvre speed or top of green arc?
|
In absence of a specific Turbulence Penetration speed (Vb) alawys use Va, it ensures the airframe will stall before it overstresses. :ok:

I agree that is my opinion. Others opinions?
|
VA - Maneuvering speed
VB - Turbulence penetration speed VNO - Structural cruising speed Top of the green is VNO, structural cruising speed. 1 KIAS above this is the yellow arc, speeds suitable for smooth air only. In anything greater than light-moderate turbulence I fly at less than VA and a shipload less than VNO. The aircraft I fly are 40 odd years old and 20,000+ hour machines  ... yours? Have a read of this ... From Barry Schiff - The Proficient Pilot http://http://www.barryschiff.com/sam_pp2.htm Some well written, well thought out, scientific data here, rather than opinions from the masses. My favoutite quote from this page ... "Because abiding by limit load factors is so essential to one's health and well-being, it seems odd that pilots are not provided with a means of determining when these outer limits are being approached. The only instrument normally available is the uncalibrated, Mark IV gluteus maximus." :} Last edited cause I kant spell. |
Totally agree. Good read too.
