Cobham Special Mission and FWA

Apparently FWA have approved Cobham Special Missions crews for Protected Industrial Action. What's going on, are our borders going to be unprotected?

Helmut Smokar 2nd Aug 2012 05:34

That's ok they will probably get locked out, and citing National interest all industrial action will be suspended. The new employer tactic of choice!:yuk:

are our borders going to be unprotected
Didn't realise our borders were protected as is :E:E

Howard Hughes 2nd Aug 2012 06:48

They don't protect our borders, only monitor them...:E

mates rates 2nd Aug 2012 08:23

Nobody is protecting our borders, least of all the Gillard government!

Tinstaafl 3rd Aug 2012 03:43

The borders have never been protected. People have been entering the country sight unseen for 40-60,000 years.

Catalina Dreaming 5th Aug 2012 11:37

Lol.... Well probably not, they're not an essential service if someone can back it up.... The RAAF or AeroRescue or a charter???

Catalina Dreaming 5th Aug 2012 11:41

Transcripts from day 1... The ballot did get approved on day 2 from sources.

Why the disharmony? Is the Irishman up to all his tricks that he learned up North?

AerocatS2A 7th Aug 2012 04:46

I'm not sure why the disharmony as I don't work there anymore, but I would have thought they would have learned from years past that if they proactively keep the workforce happy and motivated they won't have to go into absolute panic mode when everyone takes the first opportunity to leave and be forced into spending gazillions of dollars in retention bonuses and pay increases just to avoid defaulting on the Coastwatch contract. A little bit upfront will save bucket loads down the track.

Well apparently the ballot papers are in the mail so I hear.... Let's see if they've learnt their lessons from last time. Surprised it's not in the news at the moment considering the amount of new Australians that arrived on the weekend.

Calldepartures 14th Aug 2012 10:16

If Cobhams are on strike, it will be a good chance for Jetstar to recruit..:E

isartheory 16th Aug 2012 00:40

Has everybody rx'd their ballot papers yet?
