Noise Abatement Procedure
Can someone quote the DAP or Jepps text defining the NAP to be used by Jets at Aussie Airports?
We use LIDO, and the way NAP is describe is a bit ambiguous- it can be read as being standard ICAO type B (Thrust reduction + acceleration to Vfr at 1000') OR acelleration to flaps up THEN thrust reduction at 1000' (Which would be a local variation). Are the other Docs a bit clearer on this? |
Jepp Terminal section, page AU-13 might have more for you.
Either NADP 1 or 2 are acceptable, or some other method that meets the requirements of PANS OPS Vol 1, Part V, Chapter 3 |
Cheers warren- don't know why Lufty couldn't have just written that!!

AIP ENR 1.5-41 Section9

Err...Yeah...thanks- as I said, I don't have access to those documents, hence the question.
Could you cut'n'paste the relevent paragraph? |
Go to Airservices web site. These days it is all on the web.

Just had a look. 9.1.7 is the paragraph reproduced in LIDO. It DOES seem to be a variation on NADP B (rather than NADP 2 as it specifies 1000ft, not 800) in that it calls for thrust reduction after flap retraction. What specific procedures are most Aussie operators using? (I seem to remember we used type A or B on a runway specific basis). |

Jepp 10-4 for YPPH states either NADP1 or NADP2. However alternative procedures are available to aircraft operators with engines having a by pass ratio greater than 3.5:1, climb at V2+10 - V2+20, maintain t/o power setting till 1000', maintain positive rate of climb accelerate to VZF retracting flaps on schedule, then reduce to normal climb power, continue to climb at not greater than VZF+10 to 3000' :ok: |

Get ya Tripller all wound up and let her rip.........enjoy the ride. |

About to do my third Aussie trip in three months, haught! Things are looking up!

We maintain V2 + 10 until 800 ft which is the TRA and ACC altitude.
Flaps are retracted after thrust is reduced. |
We just use the programmed SRS in the Airbus with TRA and ACC at 1500Ft AGL.
Meets the requirements. |
