DC-3 engine failure

This evening I saw a 'news' report on channel 9 that a light Plane had an engine failure and had returned to Essendoom I think.

Looked a lot like a silver DC-3 to me (one prop feathered)

Does anyone know the details of how it happened (other than the donk stopped...)?

Heard from a mate of a mate in the hangar that it was a short circuit in the Thronomister, shutting down the electrical supply.

Am curious as to what else a DC3 with a prop feathered may look like? :hmm:

Not sure about DC3 but most piston aircraft will stop a prop by mixture to idle cut-off and prop lever to feather.:8

Pffftt, the Ice Pilots have an engine failure on every second flight these days...

Or maybe another glitch in the discombobulator? Those damn things are always causing prop feathering these days.....:ouch:

You also need to push the big red button (feathering pump)

Maybe someone removed the MASTER rod as it is no longer P.C.

You'd almost swear Jabiru were making donks for DC-3s and -4s nowadays :E

Essendoom is a long way from Avalon where it landed.
