DC-3 engine failure
This evening I saw a 'news' report on channel 9 that a light Plane had an engine failure and had returned to Essendoom I think.
Looked a lot like a silver DC-3 to me (one prop feathered) Does anyone know the details of how it happened (other than the donk stopped...)? |
Heard from a mate of a mate in the hangar that it was a short circuit in the Thronomister, shutting down the electrical supply.

Those new-fangled electric engines are just so unreliable! :E

Not sure about DC3 but most piston aircraft will stop a prop by mixture to idle cut-off and prop lever to feather.:8

Pffftt, the Ice Pilots have an engine failure on every second flight these days...

Or maybe another glitch in the discombobulator? Those damn things are always causing prop feathering these days.....:ouch: |

Essendoom is a long way from Avalon where it landed.
