Democratic Government

A government so lacking in competence, so enmeshed in deceit spin, devoid of trust coupled to a bureaucracy equally lacking in ability and trustworthiness.

A government with an Aviation Minister `responsible’ for the aviation portfolio leading the spin and deception particularly with aviation administration and regulator giving the impression of doing little for the industry;

With Carbon TAX legislation passed where every indication is that the large majority of Australians highly disagree with the method it was based upon; how long will it be before the PM, Julia Gillard is dumped by Labor and replaced by who knows who?

I think Gillard has won this round. There is too long to run to the next election for a traditionally apathetic electorate to "maintain the rage".

At least that's what she's counting on.

I think the focus will shift back to the Government's general incompetence, waste and inability to deliver efficient programs.

The cracks are now appearing in the NBN, for example.

The opposition can just keep stoking the fires on a number of fronts; so that when labor/greens goes, it will be for a multitude of reasons rather than their just being a mob of egotisitical, immoral, dictatorial, anti-democratic socialists.

Sadly, in their place, we'll get egotistical, immoral, pseudo-democratic conservatives - but that's government.

Had to chuckle at News 24 last night. While broadcasting footage of Ms Gillard repeatedly proclaiming to the House that the great majority of Australians supported the Clean Energy Future and the Carbon Tax, they ran a sub text that Greg Combet had stated he would be working very hard to convince the community of the benefits of the scheme.

Gillard - she speaks well but just can't stop uttering falsehoods. :ugh:

Speaks well??

seriously? sounds like a drone to my ears, probably more life in an AWIS broadcast.

So now i have to spend hours on the modelling on the effects this will have on my business, and what my new hourly rate will be.

Failing that, sack my staff and take up the job offer to return to wages :ugh::ugh::ugh:

Would love to debate the merits of this but, once the diehards from each end of the spectrum get into it, then it becomes a Hamster wheel & will end up being locked...

Anyway, suffice to say, a sad day for Oz. Here endeth my 2c worth.

Jabawocky 13th Oct 2011 05:20

Sad day indeed.

I think Gillard has won this round.
No Bob Brown and the greenie muppets have won this round. The independents that crossed the line also have a lot to answer for. I hope the electorate that voted for them because of their "conservative" and anti-labor views will punnish them at the next election.

Sadly, in their place, we'll get egotistical, immoral, pseudo-democratic conservatives - but that's government
Well if that is what you call it we will all be better off for it.

I might start searching for a new country to live in.........hang on the USA might be a mess at the moment, but it will not be long before it looks positively attractive.

I'm glad I called her a c**ntu when I had the chance!

Dark Knight 13th Oct 2011 05:36

Atlas; a little couth & culture; decorum if you will; whilst we may not particularity like her, for better or for worse she is our Prime Minister, an office which does require some respect regardless of the incumbent or lack of regard for said incumbent thereof.

Lets keep our debate somewhat civil please.

Another Jetblast thread....gone off track..

What a sad bunch that you feel the need to hi-jack this Forum for your soapbox for your individual political comments. We get enough of this rammed down our throats every time we turn on the telly. As if it is important ??? Get a life - seems you have been brainwashed into thinking this stuff is interesting !!! The political animals have been the same forever.

Respect has to be earned, not awarded.

She ain't earned Jack.

Dark Knight 13th Oct 2011 05:53

The point is; having got the TAX passed she & it are so highly toxic there is no way Labor can win the next election with her at the helm where she is incapable of ensuring government administration is effective or honest.

She has served her purpose; Labor with its record of eating their young will now replace her.

But; When & Who with?

Meanwhile a Virgin 737 FO is on gross $105,000 to $124,000.
Nothings equal/fair in this world.
