Bankstown crash

Just saw on the news where a C152 (HCE) crashed shortly after takeoff from Bankstown. Plane is upside down in a nearby paddock. Both pilot & passenger unharmed.

The flying phone box bites the dust

It'll be back again. I've seen HCE in worse conditions. That thing has crashed more times than the $US.

RENURPP 26th Sep 2011 04:34

It landed upside down apparently, very impressive!

Yep - it is possible to do a wheels up landing in a fixed gear aircraft! :)
Media said a while ago that although the firies attended there was no fire & no fuel spill. Sounds a bit strange, doesn't it?!

No fuel spill? Good demonstration of airmanship there, using the forward fuel dump system of the C152 before impact. Has prevented many a post-impact fire.

And a great display of English skills.
Guess that exam really didn,t work.:E

Another lucky escape for the management who cant be bothered to organise a an airport (volunteer) fire service.

Along with the parking charge, garden replenishment fee, fire attendance fee & ATC undies laundering surcharge.
