Aircraft Handling Incident Darwin

Browsing the ATSB web site and noted incident AO-2011-14 in relation to a Beech 1900 having a problem conducting assymetric training. Remember many years ago that Impulse had an incident with a Beech 1900 during assymetric training. Any one know the details of the latest incident?

Interesting to note the ATSB heading, "Aircraft Handling Incident". One could only think that it was a loss of control whilst conducting engine failures after take off.

Its only 18 months or so since an aircraft was lost at Darwin doing a identical exercise, and CASA made big noises about operators will be required to conduct assymetric training in simulators only.

The only operator I am aware of using simulators full time is Airnorth, but from all accounts there has been a significant increase in the turbo prop fleet based in Darwin. Are CASA ensuring that these operators are using sim's?

One of the problems facing most operators now is the lack of experience in Training and Checking organisations, and incidents do occurr, ie the M23 in YSCB, the Beech 1900 with Impulse, to mention a few.

Looks like the usual CASA lack of direction, the problem is, what happens when the next "Aircraft Handling Incident" hits the ground?
