Busselton Freq

Ladies and gentlemen flying in SW WA, please note that the frequency for Busselton is 127.00, not 126.70 as it once was. Please tell your friends. There have been several close calls of late.

Cheers :ok:

Surely some bright spark could put a low power auto response unit at Busselton that tells the new frequency if 126.7 is detected (squelched so it doesn't respond to someone inbound to other nearby strips).

If "close calls" are happening then this would provide a much higher level of safety and also remind those forgetful pilots to check ERSA once in a while!

I don't see why an aerodrome should go to the expense of installing an AFRU for the numbnuts who are too tight to buy or too lazy to read ERSA / NOTAMS / Charts etc. Maybe the aero club could have someone with a hand held on 126.7 listening for recalcitrants doing their inbound calls and politely point out their error.

Having an AFRU on a frequency where it's installation is not published would probably only confuse matters more. Put it in a NOTAM I hear you say. Well if they don't read the other stuff, they probably won't read NOTAMs either.

It's been Notamed every day since it changed. So I'd say not, probably won't read the Notams, more like definitely don't read the Notams.
